It is based on a contemporary variation of the Orpheus myth which tells the dream of a love that surpasses death. Marc Sinan’s score combines traditional music from Asia and Europe. The music is of hypnotic, trance-like intensity.
Videos of the musicians and the performer are shown together with generative and audio-reactive visuals on a total of 38 LED panels. The spatial arrangement of the installation, like the composition, is based on the Fibonacci sequence. The spiral-shaped installation and the 360° sound space created by 12 loudspeakers are freely accessible. Sound and image can thus be experienced in different ways at every point of the immersive space.
Survival is part of the Endless Pleasures-series.
